While the view source window does show the line number when one clicks on a
specific line, it would be nice if it had an option to show all line numbers in
a separate line-number column on the left (an option like "View > Line Numbers"
in the menu). Something similar to Dreamweaver's view line numbers option
perhaps (most, if not all, HTML editors have this).

Click anywhere on the view-source window, and you will see the line number &
column number on the status. It is even better if you use that in combination
with Caret Browsing (hit F7).

This isn't a duplicate of bug 104383. That bug is to go to a specific line
number, this is a request to display the line numbers on the left without having
to click your mouse somehwere and look at the bottom of the screen for the
cursor position.
