Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 When closing the browser, it sometimes crashes (the computer crashes and automatically restarts). All of my bookmarks are gone except for the ones imported from Internet Explorer. Is there a way to prevent this? Is there a way to copy all of my bookmarks so they will be easy to replace in case we crash again? Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.It used to happen very often when closing with the "x" in the upper right hand corner 2.It has happened 2 times in the last week when closing with "close" in the File column 3.It seems to happen especially when closing several screens quidkly, maybe they are not completely loaded? Actual Results: The computer shuts off and restarts. When using the browser after this happens all of my bookmarks are gone except for the ones that were imported from I.E. This same thing happened with Firebird also. This probably happens about twice a week. Otherwise I love firefox. Internet Explorer is unusable there are so many pop-ups. Expected Results: Most of the time the browser stops OK. Is there a way to save my bookmarks so if it happens again I will have a copy of the bookmarks?

Normally, under Windows NT4/2000/Xp/2003, only drivers can crash a computer. What is your PC graphic driver ? And your other components ? Thanks.
Summary: Browser crashes, computer restarts, and all bookmarks are gone. → Browser crashes, computer restarts, and all bookmarks are gone.

First of all: yes, there is a way to save your bookmarks: Try File | Export... in the Bookmarkmanager. Then: Please change the component to Firefox, as we don't know if this happens in Seamonkey too. And the severity should be raised to critical, since data is lost. Very important: Please add: dataloss as a keyword in the keyword field.
Hi all, i'm not claiming that i have seen Mozilla crash my machine(s). But what i have seen several times now all in all is that when for whatever reason the computer crashes while Mozilla is open (not necessarily in use), there is a decent probability that after restartof the system, the bookmarks and possibly other setting like email accounts are gone. This happened to me on W2K and Linux.

There are many bugs reported about such problems already, I chose bug 193749 to dupe against. There might be closer ones, but as long as they are filed it does not really matter to which this one is duped... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 193749 ***
