Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040316 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040316 Mozilla is open w/ several tabs (boston.com, wired.com, groklaw.net , a couple of others), it is not minimized and not maximized. Several other applications are running with overlapping windows. One of the other applications currently has focus. All of a sudden I hear the sound I think is attached to popup blocking, and then the Mozilla window is brought to the front and given focus. This was not happening with Mozilla 1.6 as far as I know, and has been happening with some regularity with 1.7b. Sorry I don't have time to try to reproduce this, but I didn't see anything like this reported in bugzilla, and I think it really needs to be fixed for 1.7 as there is nothing quite as annoying as having an application you aren't using grab the focus get in front of the application you are using. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Can you narrow it down to a single website that is doing this? After, you found the website see if unchecking Edit-> Pref.-> Advanced-> Scripts & Plugins-> Rise or Lower windows helps.
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
I have an issue that may be related. If I have one Mozilla window minimized and another open and I hit a link on my personal toolbar (or in an email) in the open window it sometimes brings up the minimized window (even thought that wasn't the active window) and opens the page there. I noticed this sometime after the September release. I've also noticed windows becoming dead to keyboard operations (you can't type or cut'n'paste) even though the pointer works. You have to kill the window and reopen it. In my experience this has occurred mostly (but not always) in the email application. These may all be related. I'm running on a Mac with OS X 10.3.6 and Mozilla 1.8a6.
