I set up a dual monitor configuration on my inspiron 8600 laptop, and dragged
the firefox windows to the external screen. However, when I click on the url
dropdown, it drops down on the right edge (the external monitor is to the right)
of the built in screen. Also, clicking on something that opens a popup (an ad
at dilbert.com in this case) opens the add in the right location, but on the
wrong screen.
I just tested the menu bar (file/edit/view) and it also drops down on the
incorrect screen, against the right edge.
I do not have the task bar extending onto the external monitor, so it may be a
function of the laptop not reporting the screen size in pixels correctly. Other
applications (i.e. msn messenger, and ones that I have written) display the
menus in the correct location.

The above happened after I added the monitor, but before a reboot. I tried
rebooting, and it worked normally after that.
