I don't understante why, but when I click in a URL to download a MSWord .doc or
when a click to open a message in Mozilla Mail with a .doc, my Mozilla freeze
and I need to kill him.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Chose a URL or mail with a .doc
2. Click on it.
3.

Actual Results:  
Mozilla freeze

Expected Results:  
Open the message in Mozilla Mail or download the .doc document.
your /etc/mailcap or ~/.mailcap contains a nonexisting path. known bug and has
since been fixed.

I don't have /etc/mailcap or ~/.mailcap, I don't use it...
I will remove this entries from mozilla prefs and try to open a .doc file...
