...to obviate the hack where you need to do a "setAttribute(samevalue)" to get
the template's contents regenerated when adding or removing a datasource from a
template builder's composite datasource.

Bah. I changed my mind. I think this is a bad idea, because it'd force us to
reconstruct the tree way more than (potentially) is required.
