Maybe there is a dependency.
Its new in 1.7rc1. In 1.7b it was OK.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Preferences / Navigator / Helper Applications (HAs)
2.Klick on HA list entry
3.

Actual Results:  
No list entry is activated
New HA ... works
Delete an edit are dimmed.

Expected Results:  
Ha should be activated after click and info should be shown below.
Delete an edit should work.

The new HA list sorting feature vanishes after two clicks.
Leave the HA pref. section and come back will activate the sorting feature again.
major severity: because of possible security threats
