This is especially annoying when you have to edit in long articles, like in wikipedia. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. press CTRL + F 2. type something, that IS in a textarea on the current page 3. search I'd suggest the options * "search in textfields" (for both fields and areas) * "search in current textfield" (only the one that has been activated by clicking; grey out, if not available) also, the option *search in current frame only may be useful

You'll be pleased to know that this is bug 58305, a fix for which has been recently checked in to the trunk. It hasn't yet been approved for 1.7 final, so you may have to wait for 1.8alpha. Resolving this bug as a duplicate of bug 58305. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 58305 ***
