I'm running mail using imap. My INBOX is extremely large 4500 messages. If I
have my Inbox cached when I go offline, then I try to delete messages starting
with the eldest, when I reconnect, mozilla seems to get confused and all of the
emails that were marked for deletion change back to being marked as read and
nothing gets updated on the imap server.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go offline and sync inbox into local cache
2. delete messages beggining with eldest
3. reconnect to server
Actual Results:
All messages marked for deletion changed back to the "read" state.
Expected Results:
The emails marked for deletion should have been removed from the server and from
my local cache.
I believe this has just happened to me in Thunderbird 0.8 under Windows 2000.
In my case, it was a separate folder rather than the Inbox. I synchronised and
disconnected, deleted about 3/4 of the mail from the folder, and reconnected and
resynchronised: it all came back.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
