Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.1; Linux)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030821
I have standard SuSE Linux 9.0 installed on home computer & work computer. At
work (the "local computer"), I maintain an LBX connection to my home (the
"remote computer"). I run mozilla on the remote computer (displaying on the
work computer) for its calendar features, maybe also to look at bookmarks at
home.
HOWEVER, I also want to run mozilla on the local computer. When I click on a
URL or click my mozilla icon at work, I want a LOCAL copy of Mozilla to run.
But no, the x-remote stuff is being too smart for its own good. It finds the
Mozilla from my home computer and runs THAT instead. Just try printing to a
local printer when Mozilla refuses to run locally!
Of course, I don't want x-remote disabled. It's good to be able to click on a
link or something and not have another Mozilla start up. But I want it to be
set up so that it only searches for LOCAL Mozilla processes, and it leaves the
REMOTE processes alone. I want to be able to run a local and remote Mozilla
simultaneously.
IN a similar vein: if I have a mozilla running at home, then when I ssh into my
home computer and run "mozilla", it pops up a new Mozilla on the home computer,
not at the screen I'm sitting at. That is also very annoying.
See below for specific details.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
A.
1. local> ssh -X remote-computer mozilla &
[ CORRECT: Runs mozilla on the remote computer and displays locally ]
2. local> mozilla &
[ BUG: Runs Mozilla on remote computer instead of locally ]
OR:
B.
[Suppose mozilla is already running on remote computer]
1. local> ssh -X remote-computer mozilla &
[ BUG: Opens up a second Mozilla window on remote screen rather than one at
the local computer ]
Actual Results:
A. It opened up another Mozilla window running on the remote computer and
displaying on the local computer.
B. It opened up another Mozilla window running and displaying on the remote
computer.
Expected Results:
A. Should open a Mozilla window running on local computer AND displaying on
local computer.
B. Should open a Mozilla window running on remote computer and displaying on
local computer.
