Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040506 Firefox/0.8.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040506 Firefox/0.8.0+

When keyboard focus is in the Google search field, shift-tab does not move focus
to the address bar (or anywhere else, shift-tab does nothing).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Move keyboard focus to the Google searchbar field.
2. Press shift+tab together
Actual Results:
nothing

Expected Results:
keyboard focus should move to the URL bar, because it is the preceding keyboard
focus item.

I just need to press shift-tab three (3) times to set focus on the location
bar... CMD-L will always take you to the location bar... and shift-tab does move
me up thru the diffent text-boxes all the way up to the location bar on
bugzilla... and on google just one tab brings me to the location bar as well.
Huh, this is definitely not how it's behaving for me. First, just to say, I'm
using Mac OS X 10.3.3, latest Firefox nightly, and (I think this may be relevant
to the bug's behavior) my toolbar is set up:

back | forward | refresh | stop | url-field | throbber | google-field

So for me, the tab order is url-field, google-field, web page or frame border,
first link or other tabbable element in web page, next link or element, etc.

So okay, going through your observations, here are mine, which are different:

> I just need to press shift-tab three (3) times to set focus on the location
> bar...

Do you mean 3 times to bring it from the google field or from no focus? For me,
once I hit the google field, no amount of shift-tabbing, not even 3 times or 30
times, will move focus past the google field. It just stays stuck in the google
field, for sure, not matter what. This happens if I start from no focus (new
window or whatever) and then shift-tab until I reach the google field, or if I
Command+K to go straight to the google field, or if I click in the google field,
or if I start from some focus on the web page, or anything. It absolutely does
not tab in reverse past the google field for me.

> CMD-L will always take you to the location bar...

Yes, that's fine here.

> and shift-tab does move me up thru the diffent text-boxes all the way up
> to the location bar on bugzilla...

For me, things stop at the google field when shift-tabbing. Forwarding tabbing
(just pressing tab) passes the google field fine, though.

> and on google just one tab brings me to the location bar as well.

Nope, definitely not the case here with shift-tab.
