I'm sorry if its already possible to do this, but I haven't found a way.

Anyhow, I run mozilla at a res of 1600x1200. Consequently the URL toolbar is
very large, which is useful, yes. However the search (google) toolbar is still
tiny. I find it very frustrating not being able to adjust the size of this. It
would be really nice if I could.

The way Apple do it in Safari is there is an adjustment thing between the URL
bar and the search bar, you can just click and drag this left or right to adjust
the size on the fly.
This would be preferable to some sort of config as sometimes you want it large
when doing a complex google query.

Thanks very much!

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
not applicable.
Actual Results:
Can't resize search text entry.

Expected Results:
Resizable text entry.
You can do this by editing your userChrome.css file:
http://texturizer.net/firefox/tips.html#app_searchbarsize

Having a UI in the preferences to resize the bar has been previously suggested
and rejected.
