User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040207 Firefox/0.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040207 Firefox/0.8

I gave the Yahoo URL because it's the once I detected this little problem. If
you access to it and then click on the "Mail" icon at the top of the page, you
access the user identification form. It can be accessed in other parts of the
website.

I *think* the following is done with JavaScript:

Yahoo has set the page so when it's finally loaded, the input focus is set to
the "Yahoo! ID" field. As I'm on dial-up, it's frequent for me to finish typing
the username before the page is loaded. Then I <tab> to the password field and
enter my password. Sometimes the page finishes loading while I'm doing it.

The focus is then changed to the ID field as I continue typing, and part of the
password is entered in clear text after the username unless you realise the
focus has changed and stop typing, of course.

I think Mozilla shouldn't let the focus change if it's inside a password field.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to the forementioned URL
2.Click in the Mail icon
3.Start typing something in the password field and let the page finish loading.

Actual Results:
The focus was changed to the ID field and the password was partially revealed.

Expected Results:
Forbid focus change when on a password field.
This has nothing to do with the JS engine...

jesiah:
how is this a dupe of bug 240511? what ricardo (the reporter) asked for is very
specific and only tangentially related to bug 240511. sure, if bug 240511 were
implemented, a user could set the corresponding pref and avoid this particular
issue, but that doesn't make this a dupe, imo.

Well b/c it is not. I acted too quickly in dupeing it. As I look closer I doubt
that bug would even fix this one. That bug seems to only effect onload while
moving through history.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
