so, this does happen in 2004051409 (winxp)
it did not happen in a build from may 01, unfortunately I don't have an hour handy
seen on lxr.m.o/mozilla, as well as view page source
What happens is: The page seems to start loading correctly (hard to tell, this
is only for a very short time), then the screen, at least the upper part of it,
becomes blank (filled with default background color) for about a second, then
the real content is shown.
In the LXR case, one (of the three) search buttons showed while the page was
blank otherwise.
