User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 GIF animations play very fast and pause occasionaly Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to any webpage with a gif animation from my computer 2. 3. Actual Results: GIF animations play very fast and pause occasionaly Expected Results: animations should play at a consistent speed
can you attach one GIF showing the issue and also test this with 1.7RC2 ?
Attached image gif animation at 1/100
on my computer this animation always pauses at least once every second or so
this animation plays very fast and occasionally pauses for a second or so. I'm not having this problem with Mozilla under RedHat and I don't remember if it behaves the same way on a Macintosh. Also this is on a slow computer k6-2 500, though processor load is not high and internet explorer renders the animations correctly after cycling through them once. there are several good timing examples at : http://www.theimage.com/animation/timing/timing.htm
This bug is still present in 1.7rc2
all animations (attached and at theimage.com) work as expected for me. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040509 Firefox/0.8.0+
does this mean that this is behaviour exhibited by my system (and maybe other low end systems), though not generally a proper bug?
Look at this image: http://img.homepagemodules.de/flash.gif It should change coler at moderate speed (approximately 5 changes per second), in firefox 0.9 it drives me crazy when someone posts this image in a forum (It's a build-in smiley at [forum-id].homepagemodules.com) In firefox 0.8 (official windows build) the speed was "right" (compared to IE6). I remember seeing this fast speed on exactly the same image file in rather old versions of firefox.
Not sure if this is the exactly the same issue. I do not have pause problems. See http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/9018/SDntsc.gif, http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/356/scooter.gif, and http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/109/Untitled4324324324.gif ... They animate too fast on my Athlon XP 2200+ with Mozilla v1.7 in Windows XP Professional SP1 (all updates). I did not have this problem in v1.6 before I upgraded. IE6.0 SP1 showed the speed just fine.
The 2 attached images play at normal speed without pauses (Mozilla rv:1.8a2 Gecko/20040613). It seems that the animations in comment 7 and comment 8 have a delay time of only 3 ms, so it might be related to bug 68104 and its dupes. Component Image:GFX?
