When you scroll up and down a document using the scrollbar (by holding down the left mouse button) you drop control of the scrollbar if you accedently press the right mouse button. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to a page that is so long that a scrollbar appear 2. Click on the scrollbar with the left mousebutton and keep it held down Now you can scroll up and down on the page 3. While still holding down your left mousebutton, press and release your right mousebutton Actual behaviour: You can no longer scroll up and down on the page (have to go to the scrollbar and grab it again) Expected behaviour: Mozilla should ignore the right mousebutton click and still let the user have the scrollbar grabed. It's actually when you release the right mousebutton that you drop the scrollbar. The reversed thing also gives this behaviour (grab scrollbar using right mousebutton and click the on left). I'm running build 2000-01-19-08 on Win98

PMFJI, but when I right-click while scrolling, I get a context menu while still able to continue scrolling. If I then mouse over the Stop item, release the right then the left mouse buttons, then press ESC to cancel the menu, the scrollbar still scrolls when I move the mouse over Mozilla.

The problem noted in the last comment has been reported in bug 43156, "Scrolling gets 'stuck' after right click while scrolling" -- it becomes impossible to *not* scroll. If the slider keeps moving during the right-click, bug 43156 happens. If it doesn't, a context menu appears (subject of other bugs), and this bug happens -- scrolling stops. REOPENing.

Hmm, this might turn out to be a DUP of bug 34033, "Widgets are getting destroyed for unknown reasons", FIXED today, by way of bug 26658, "linux: Scrollbars in browser sometimes go free, stop working". If this problem goes away tomorrow, it must have been.

This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way -- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.

Actually the original problem has been fixed. The current problem is that context menues are opened if rightclicking while scrolling. Should I open a new bug for that (and mark it future?) or should I just change the summary for this one?
