Would it make sense to add the salt only if the user didn't specify the
directory manually? So ~/.firefox/default.6xf/, but ~/.firefox/myprofile/

Benjamin: Can you clarify? I think if an explicit profile path is given at the
command line, then no salt should be added. Such a profile also shouldn't be
added to registry (profiles.ini), right?

Fixed on the aviary1.0 branch. I will make sure to incorporate this code when
landing semi-single-profile on the trunk.
