I can reproduce this bug on the AVIARY 1.0 branch: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040601 Firefox/0.8.0+
Flags: blocking0.9?
WFM Mac OS X 10.3.4 trunk & AVIARY BRANCH build Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040601 Firefox/0.8.0+ Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040602 Firefox/0.8.0+
Works for me using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040602 Firefox/0.8.0+ can anyone who could reproduce this still reproduce on branch or trunk?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040607 Firefox/0.8.0+ Works for me.
minusing, unless somebody can still reproduce
Flags: blocking0.9? → blocking0.9-
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040615 Firefox/0.9 Official 0.9 build for Linux on Debian Sarge has this same problem for me. CTRL-K not working, I can type data into search field after mousing to it, but ENTER doesn't do a search.
New user of Firefox (from Mozilla) - search window is a no-op on 10.3 for me too: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040628 Firefox/0.9.1 Darwin local 7.4.0 Darwin Kernel Version 7.4.0: Wed May 12 16:58:24 PDT 2004; root:xnu/xnu-517.7.7.obj~7/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1 regarding comment 8: I realized that I had 'Find in Page' selected rather than 'Google'. Now that 'Google' is selected, typing text and hitting return does a google search. However, control-K does not work.
I read this bug and checked to see if I have 'Find in Page' selected rather than 'Google'. Now that 'Google' is selected, typing text and hitting return does a google search but there should be some feedback if 'Find in Page' and nothing is found (a dialog?). control-K does not work (is it supposed to?). Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a3) Gecko/20040729 Firefox/0.9.1+
wfm with the latest Mac firefox trunk build. ctrl-k is for Windows. On Mac use command+k to set focus to search. If you feel the need, file a bug for no feedback on unsuccessful Find in Page searches.
