I think Mozilla Editor should have a some shortcut for inserting nonbreakable
space (&npsp;) during typing. In some languages (e.g Czech) it is used very often.

Look:

FrontPage, Homesite, MS Word have CTRL+Shift+Space
OpenOffice.org has CTRL+Space
On the Mac I have heard, is standard Alt+Space (on the Windows this is not
usefull, becouse it is a system shortcut for window menu).

Hmm, I think that CTRL+Shift+Space is a winner (at least on the Windows).

I would rate this as a real bug, not as an enhancement.

Currently it is completely impossible to enter a non-breaking space in the
editor; even if you type ALT-0160 it gets converted to an ordinary space. The
only way to get a non-breaking space is to switch to the source view, locate the
position you were currently editing, explicitly enter " ", and then switch
back to the normal view. I am working on a program documentation and I don't
want line breaks to occur between the type and the variable in "CEdit
*pEditControl", for example, so I need lots of non-breaking spaces, and the
procedure described above is annoying.

Ctrl-Space would be the proper key binding, I suppose, but being able to at
least use ALT-0160 on the windows platform would be almost equally fine.
It would also make sense to put it on the Insert Menu, either as a separate menu
item, or on the Characters & Symbols list. This could provide a place to
display the existence of the shortcut.

While we're doing this, how about a way to insert SOFT HYPHEN () too.
(Note that Mozilla browser still doesn't recognize - bug 9101 )

MozillaAS v1.7.x is not supported anymore.

Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?
