Livejournal sends by mail a form for replaying. You write your reply there and
press Post. The reply goes to the Livejournal.com thrue web interface.
1. It works inside the Mozilla Suite just fine.
2. It does not work from Thunderbird using Mozilla Suite or Firefox.
It shows an error "Comment not posted: POST required, or missing parameter."

I would consider this a parity bug - the LiveJournal mail states
"If your mail client supports it, you can also reply here:" so presumably some
other clients do support this.
Filed LJ support request here:
http://www.livejournal.com/support/see_request.bml?id=406923
Note that subject says "replay" instead of "reply" so this dup'ed bug is awfully
hard to find.

ok, I fixed the spelling of the summary.
The function is supported by Outlook Express/Internet Explorer, and by the
Mozilla suite. In both cases the support is easy because the email client and
browser are integrated. Implementing in Thunderbird is harder because it will
either involve having proper browser functionality in the email client, or
coming up with a method of having advanced communication between Thunderbird and
the browser. Follow the bug this is duped to if you want to see if there's any
progress (I wouldn't hold your breath)

The FAQ at livejournal I was pointed to:
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=122
"The ability to reply from HTML e-mails is highly dependent on small details
regarding what browser, e-mail client, operating system, and Internet provider
you are using."
Nowhere does it state the limitation that is being pre-supposed here, that the
browser and mail client must be tightly integrated.
