Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.toggle single/multi line post
2.try to toggle off multi 
3.doesn't work/ multi-line is stuck
4. ergo hitting enter to post to IRC fails

Actual Results:  
toggling fails 

Expected Results:  
toggle multiline to single line

I just backed out of 1.8a to 1.7 to get the multiline function off and it
failed. I'm now running:
Mozilla 1.7
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616
but the chatzilla icon is not there
the toggle for multiline is not there, I'm stuck with ctrl+enter to post to an
IRC... :(

and on looking at the revs I'm guessing this bug has been in the code for a bit
maybe noone else had spotted it?

There are many ways to toggle the mode - the buttons to the right (which themes
can screw up if they want to), the pref "Multiline" (also in the preferences
window), and Ctrl-Up/Ctrl-Down.

This WFM, too.

Unless the reporter can provide additional information, such as one or more of
the documented ways to turn multiline mode off are not working, this bug is
WORKSFORME.
