User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9
The example page is CSS/XHTML validated. It is displayed 100% correctly in
Firefox 0.9 - but when you try to do the following: select all, copy, open
Microsoft Word, paste you loose 80% of information about the styles. Doing the
same in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 gives much better results. It seems that
Firefox doesn't properly copies web content (that uses CSS styles) into the
Windows XP's clipboard.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to example page
2. Select all
3. Copy
4. Open MS Word
5. Paste
Actual Results:
All text has been copied and pasted correctly - but not styles (bolding, size of
letters, etc.).
Expected Results:
Remember and paste text with all of the styles presented correctly.

I confirm your findings when trying the provided URL with MSIE 6 SP2 and with
Firefox 0.10.1 rv 1.7.3 build 20041006 and with MS-Word 2000. Interesting.
Somehow, MS-Word 2000 gets the command to fetch the style info of file
http://www.winexpress.com.pl/lista.css
when processing the paste command.
Note that the Wine Express page does not use rich semantic markup code.
A good working demopage/testcase could be created for this bug.
I would need to search for duplicates. There is no major loss of functionality
involved here. This bug is not specific to Firefox. I can reproduce it with
Mozilla 1.8a5 build 2004101206 under XP Pro SP2.
Also not sure if this would fit in XP Toolkit/Widgets component or in selection
component.

1) This has nothing to do with selection. This is a serializer issue, since the
selection is clearly correct.
2) This is a duplicate. Please find the original and mark this duplicate.

I can not find which bug is the original of this bug.
Also, if the linked stylesheet href is relative to the page location (like it is
in the provided URL of this bug), then another bug might be also active. bug
134457 ("Relative URLs in text output") might be involved here.

I've searched again and can not find the original for this bug.
This bug is not related to bug 134457 because the style sheet formating rules
are not fetched even when the linked stylesheet has an absolute url.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
