User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040207 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Official Firefox 0.9 (Linux gtk2+xft) With firefox 0.9 I have experienced a whole lot of crashes in seemingly random situations - usually I was just browsing and after clicking on a link, the browser crashed, usually not even showing the crash report window, so often I could not even reproduce the URL I was entering when the crash occured. A sample URL I did write down is given in the URL field. I have the flash plugin (version 7) and java plugin (from Sun) installed. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Be unlucky and click the wrong link Actual Results: Browser window disappeared, leaving no trace of what happened Expected Results: Shouldn't crash
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040623 Firefox/0.9.0+ Works for me. Perhaps you've not installed Java correctly?
Looks like you're right. I removed libjava*.so from plugins/ directory and now the pages which used to crash seem to work. Looks like the java installer actually does something more than just copy the so file to plugins/, I'll have to run their installer again. Thank you for your tip - I hadn't thaught the crashes were the plugin's fault.
