249090 - With Firefox set as default, URL from Windows Taskbar "Links" starts Firefox but generates Windows error message: Windows cannot find [URL]

I use the "Links" from IE 6 in my Windows Taskbar.  I wish to make Firefox the
default browser which will launch from those "Links" URLS.  Firefox launches
just fine, but all of the URLs also generate the following Windows grey box
error message: "Windows cannot find [URL].  Make sure you typed the name
correctly, and then try again.  To search for a file click the Start button, and
then click Search."  There is no "error" because Firefox launches the correct
web page from the URL just fine.  I only get the error message when launching
from the Taskbar "Links" folder -- for example I do not get any error message or
have any other problem when launching Firefox from a URL in an MS Outlook or
Outlook Express linked URL.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Select URL from Windows Taskbar "Links" toolbar
2.  Firefox launches correctly to the linked web page
3.  Windows error message appears in grey box (with red X in circle.)
4.  I have to click "OK" to make the Windows error box go away - a nuisance.

Actual Results:  
See above.

Expected Results:  
Should not be any Windows error message.  Otherwise fine.
