This bug could be fixed in Firefox by modifying Firefox-specific code, so I
filed it as a Firefox bug.

I was able replicate this bug using Firefox on a Win XP Pro (Service Pack 2) system. Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060120 Firefox/1.5.0.1
Perhaps see if this is also replicable on a MAC or Linux based system. This could isolate the problem to and determine if it's system dependant. However,it is worth noting that this does not occur if you do a right-click -> open in new tab/window.
This may seem trivial, but it is important to many web surfers to know which sites they have visited. Sometimes one maybe be going through a list of image links and saving them. It is useful to know which images have been saved indicated by the visited link color.

Even better! No need to reload. Fixed by bug 409836 and the other changes to places.
