So all the other "sent" Folders could be deleted, cause they are no longer needed. But I am not able to delete one of these folder. - right click => context menue shows no item for delete - hitting "Delete"-Key has no effect at all - manually deleting the folder => Mozilla recreates this folder. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
On IMAP, Inbox, Drafts, Templates, and Sent folders are 'Special Folders' and cannot be deleted. This is by design.
I thought they should be deletable if other folders are set to fill their function? Related: bug 197228
Summary: Cant delete folders at all: No context menue and no reaction on "Delete" Key or manual deleting → Can't delete folders at all: No context menu and no reaction on "Delete" Key or manual deleting
(In reply to comment #1) > On IMAP, Inbox, Drafts, Templates, and Sent folders are 'Special Folders' and > cannot be deleted. This is by design. Im sorry, I was talking about POP3 Accounts. No IMAP at all. I also checked it in MOzilla 1.6 on a linux machine.
"Delete" is available under file->delete, probably not operative in this case. A workaround seems to exist: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197228#c18

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. To keep this bug open, cos it still exists and it is still not solved, Im writing this: The Problem still exists with Mozilla 1.7.11 and 1.7.12.
Definitely looks like a dupe of 197228 to me. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 197228 ***
