User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040630 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040630 If header-only mail was automatically deleted from POP3 server by "Leave messages on server/Until I delete or move them from Inbox" option before additional download, the header-only mail was deleted from folder when "Click Here" of the mail was clicked This is applicable not only to header-only mail but also to partial mail by "Disk Space" option. I think this is current design and works as designed. But this is based on non-partial mail download mechanism. This behaviour is dangerous for partialy downloaded mail. Partially downloaded mail should not be deleted until intentional deletion by user or successuful additional download. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup a POP3 account for header only download 1-1. Check "Fetch header only" 1-2. Check "Leave messages on server" 1-3. Check "Until I delete or move them from Inbox" 1-4. Uncheck "For atmost NN days" (To make test case simple) 2. Send a mail to myself. 3. "Get Messages" for this account 4. Move the header only mail from Inbox to other folder (I tested this mail move by manual Junk Move) -> inicator in popstat.dat becomes "D" (Deletable from server?) 5. Connect to POP3 server by "Get Messages" -> The mail is deleted from server -> popstat.dat entry is removed 6. Try "Additional Download" for the mail by clicking "Click Here". -> Mail disappers. (Additional Information) I think there are 2 possible ways ; (A) Do not purge partial downloaded mail from folder if the mail is already deleted from server, and issue warning message of "Already deleted from server by your request". (B) Do not apply automatic deletion option on mail which is partialy downloaded but additional download is not done yet. - Do not apply "Until I delete or move them from Inbox" - Delay application of "For atmost NN days" until additonal download or deletion by user. I prefer (A). This bug's problem is similar to Bug 248742 but different because "Leave message on server" is unchecked in Bug 248742 case.
Bug 248742 Comment #4 says that partialy downloaded message is flaged as "Deletable" in popstat.dat when moved to other folder from Inbox(Manual Move or manual Junk move. Not when move by filter or Junk filter) even if "Leave messages on server" is not requested. So this bug has dependency on Bug 248742.
