User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; www.k2pdf.com; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: The new feature of right-clicking inside edit boxes in forms, allowing you to save the search as a bookmark keywords, radically changes the way users can easily save their favorite search-sites. Mycroft searches will probably become less important. They don't work for forms that use HTTP POST instead of GET. They are too complicated to set up for non-tech users. So, I think it would be great if the search box on the toolbar was not exclusively dedicated to Google + Mycroft searches. I think user-defined searches really should be able to be accessed from that search box as an extra search engine. - There would be ONE "saved-search" concept; - There would be TWO ways of setting them up: user-defined by right-clicking on fields in forms AND server based pre-prepared Mycroft searches; - There would be TWO ways of accessing these searches: bookmark keywords (for turbo-geeks) AND an engine icon on the toolbar search box (for home users). I think the current double-concept (one thing is a Mycroft search, another is a user-defined search) is un-necessary, un-natural and reduces user options. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
It seems like this enhancement request allows searches for all fields (Name, URL, Keyword, Description, etc.) not just searchs on the "Name" (first word). This is similar to Seamonkey bookmark search, right?
(In reply to comment #1) > It seems like this enhancement request allows searches for all fields (Name, > URL, Keyword, Description, etc.) not just searchs on the "Name" (first word). > This is similar to Seamonkey bookmark search, right? Sorry, I don't see the connection betweeen my suggestion and your comment. It seems you're talking about searching for a bookmark using the bookmark's properties (Name, URL, Keyword, Description) but that's not what I'm proposing at all. I'm talking about when you're on a page that has forms on it, you right-click on one of the fields and tell Firefox to save that as a user-defined search, which creates a new keyword bookmark (bookmarks you launch by typing a keyword on the URL box) to automatically perform that search, from wherever you are, without having to go to the search page. My suggestion is of an alternative method to access these user-defined searches.

This is an old suggestion of mine, searches have changed radically since this time, there's no need to keep this open. Closing.
