Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.8 did a clean install of firefox 0.9, everything works fine. however if i fire up firefox from a shell (address bar, outlook link, or start->run), it will fire up firefox twice, having the same content. by removing firefox 0.9, install 0.8, then install 0.9 on top of 0.8 tends to fix the problem, but the identifier detects firefox as 0.8. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Remove all verions of firefox (even a clean install of the whole computer) 2. Install firefox 0.9/0.9.1 3. Open up firefox from shell such as the address bar on the start menu, or start->run Actual Results: Firefox fires up twice Expected Results: Firefox should only fire up once Intel pentium 4 Hyper Threading RAID harddrives
Your bug report is a duplicate of bug 246078. Furthermore, it's specifically mentioned in the release notes (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/0.9.html) that you should NOT install one version on top of another (which gives you the build error, among other problems I've seen mentioned).
