I built from the CVS today Jan 25 2000, on a Red Hat 6.0 Linux box (intel). When I went to the above URL, I got some really strange results. The page never seemed to fully load, some of the images were displayed but most of the page would not render. You really have to see this one for yourself, it is completely hosed! When this page loaded the console displayed lots of messages like this. ComboboxControl(select)(1)@0x42d0c3c8: WARNING: max-element-size:1425,345 desired:1425,330 maxSize:1073741824,1073741824 ComboboxControl(select)(1)@0x42d0c3c8: WARNING: max-element-size:1425,345 desired:1425,330 maxSize:1073741824,1073741824 ComboboxControl(select)(1)@0x42d0c3c8: WARNING: max-element-size:1425,345 desired:1425,330 maxSize:1073741824,1073741824 ComboboxControl(select)(1)@0x42d0c3c8: WARNING: max-element-size:1425,345 desired:1425,330 maxSize:1073741824,1073741824 WARNING: aFrame is already associated with a region, file ../../../../mozilla/layout/base/src/nsSpaceManager.cpp, line 718 ###!!! Break: at file ../../../../../mozilla/layout/html/base/src/nsBlockFrame.cpp, line 5424 I am not sure if that helps, but I thought I would add it.
Another zdnet page with LAYER? Wow, no, it's not. None of that. It looks like ziff-davis is feeding mozilla some new-style HTML, and it isn't working the best. Testing this with the 2000-01-25-08-M14 nightly binary on Windows NT, the page loaded eventually, if incorrectly, blanking once during loading as 3jrgm@qlink.queensu.ca saw in bug 22185, "Mozilla M11 segfaults on the given URL", another zdnet page. The middle and right columns of the main part of the page appear below the left column, but the page otherwise looks correct. This could be just a missing end-tag on nested table code; I'll try for a testcase, but not right now. This looks like a DUP of bug 24795, "zdnet news articles don't appear on the page", ASSIGNED; but not marking as such, quite yet, on account of the different results on Linux. There are 7 other open bugs with zdnet in the URL field; it looks like some of them are probably also DUPs of bug 24795.
