Hi,

It would be really great if Firefox would allow you to switch tabs using the
mouse wheel.

You would first need to put your mouse over the tab bar and then simply scroll
the wheel.
Scrolling up would switch one tab to the left.
Scrolling down would switch one tab to the right.

I feel the the current tab functionality is very basic and it needs some
improvement which wouldn't require any extra extensions.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
You can get this behaviour with the "tab browser extensions" extension.

And it is good behaviour!
I know, but the tabbrowser extension is slow as hell, it really slows down the
startup times !
Can I please get a comment about this?

Firefox starts up REALLY fast without the tabbed browser extension and I would
really like to have this functionality by default!

It doesn't seem that hard either.. simply catch mouse wheel events on the tab bar :)

Downloading TBE just for this feature is like trying to rub your ear with your foot!
I think this should be enabled by default because tabs in GTK+ can be switched
using the scroll wheel. If it looks like a duck it should quack like a duck.
tab mix has the same functionality and is much faster than tab browser
extensions.also, some people don't need this feature(e.g. me) so i suggest WONTFIX

Oh, sorry, I forgot that the universe spans around you.

I'm sorry, but the more tab browser features firefox has built in the less time
people need to look for extensions, plus, extensions do slow down startup and
tend to consume more memory.

The point is that browsers such as Maxthon (MyIE) allows you to customize nearly
every aspect of the tabbar and that's the way it should be in Firefox.
This feature request has my vote!

Thanks.
This bug is a duplicate of bug 281192 - could someone mark it as such?
(arguably it's a dupe of bug 108524 too, but mconnor left 281192 open and it's
relatively active so may as well mark it as a dupe of that...)
