User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8 A tag like <!-------------------------> is not recognized as a terminated comment. As a result, some HTML immediately following the tag is not rendered. In the referenced URL, the tag is just above the 'notes' section. Obviously, you will need to view source to see what's really going on. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load the page 2. Note the paragraph which begins in the middle of a sentence. 3. View source to locate the misparsed comment Actual Results: A secion of HTML was not rendered. Viewing source shows the run away comment tag which produces the effect. Expected Results: Ended the comment properly and rendered the intended HTML.
Not a bug. It is illegal to have hyphens in the body of a comment. You actually keep opening and closing the comment with all the dashes. See <http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/intro/sgmltut.html#idx-HTML> : "A common error is to include a string of hyphens ("---") within a comment. Authors should avoid putting two or more adjacent hyphens inside comments." Note : a comment starts with "<!--", all the rest (starting from the 3th hyphen) is part of the comment itself, and strings of hyphens aren't allowed there.
