User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040413 Debian/1.6-5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040413 Debian/1.6-5 Sorry for the Summary, couldn't resist :-) I've tried to fill out the form at http://register.go.com/disney/register but it just loops back to the same page when I click the submit button. I am not certain that this is a browser / advocacy type of problem but I can't come up with any other good explanation either. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fill in all fields on the form 2. (Make sure you uncheck the "I want a birthday greeting" checkbox and) click submit 3. Be presented with the same page again, as if you had failed to fill in something, but with no indication what's wrong (other than that they apparently insist that Mickey should be allowed to send you a birthday greeting ... but leaving it checked doesn't help either) Actual Results: Got the same page again, with no error message or anything Expected Results: Should submit the form and accept me as a registered user (ideally, with a step of confirmed opt in, i.e. send a confirmation email to the address I entered) There's something on Disney's main site about "upgrading to a standards-compliant browser" and suggesting IE5 or Netscape 7 ... As noted above, I'm not sure if this page works with IE5 and I have no way to test that. Probably verifying that would be a useful first step in diagnosing this.
I registered successfully using nightly build 2004-07-13-06 and also with Mozilla 1.6 on Linux. Do you have any 3rd party plugins or Mozilla extensions or themes installed? Could you try again just to rule out that it was a temporary server problem?
I have a couple of extensions and a theme, in fact. * I'm running with the tabbrowser-extensions as installed via the Debian package mozilla-tabextensions 1.10.2004061401-1 <http://white.sakura.ne.jp/~piro/xul/_tabextensions.html.en> * I'm using <http://recall.mozdev.org/> which I installed as root (wouldn't work otherwise; see bug) -- the most recent version isn't very recent (Dec 2003 IIRC) * I'm using the "Lo Fi Classic" theme, prerelease for Mozilla 1.6, downloaded and installed a few weeks ago Under this configuration, I still can't register. I'll try again with a bare Mozilla and no extensions but I don't know when I'll have the time to set that up. Thanks for looking into this.
