It only makes sense for the browser to remember the preferred stylesheet so that users don't have to set them again each time. I might be mistaken, but I don't believe that any major web browsers have this feature yet. The way things are, users are discouraged from using alternative stylesheets, and web developers are thus discouraged from creating them. Giving users the ability to keep their selected stylesheet for a website would be a significant step in allowing them to experience the Internet how they wish without requiring much technical know-how, which I feel is one of major benefits of Firefox.
