If you follow the 'Steps,' Mozilla will lose all bookmarks and history.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Make some bookmarks or whatever in FireFox
2) Go to a website
3) Shutdown PC from the power source
4) Restart PC, and let Windows do a file check
5) Go into FF, all bookmarks/history should be gone
Actual Results:  
Bye bye, bookmarks.

Expected Results:  
Either not had any problems, or had the option to let me backup my preferences.
 (Or backed up by itself!)

Yep, 193749 is it.  However, I can confirm that it definitely happens as it has
multiple times on FireFox, and I believe (though don't quote me) it's the same
for Mozilla.

Also, after the last crash, it seems that FF doesn't even save history anymore.
 Weird.  (History IS set to 9 days.)

If this is just a side effect that would be fixed, please close this bug.  :)

Ah ... you mean that after the crash your history stays empty? That's weird. If
so, try to delete the history.dat before starting FF, then it will be recreated.
Otherwise see Bug 63292.

It has happened the same thing to me.
One of my hardrives has little space left, windows xp blocked then when i tried
to close firefox (FF ver 0.9.3) it didn't closed well, it stayed in task manager
showing not responding.
Then i had to force a reset, when i opened firefox all "front page settings"
disappered, like bookmarks, bookmarks in "manage bookmarks".
Is there any option to save profile or saving setting by default?
Running firefox by profile in start or select a profile for starting with firefox?
