you have to open Mozilla Mail, for it to check if there is mail

with netscape 4.8 when the browzer was open it would always check for new mail.
with 1.7.1 you have to open the mail , for it to check for new mail...
please look into this, people have been asking for this change for over two years

Expected Results:
when you open the browser , the little mail icon would go yellow for checking
mail, and go green if there is new mail. then you would know to get your new mail.
