Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Firefox is default browser in win XP pro. When I click any url link in any application (email or anything else), two firefox instances open, both to the clicked link. In addition, an msie instance opens in a third window to the msie start page. The firefox instances are independent of each other once open. Clicking links within each open firefox window SOMETIMES acts as expected (the clicked link opens in the browser window). However, at other times, the link will open in msie or else a new empty msie instance will open in front of the firefox window in which the link was clicked. when msie is default, clicked links open as expected. This has persisted through several firefox builds and is a problem on several different computers with different motherboards and processors. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.click a link in any application 2.multiple browsers open as noted above 3.etc Actual Results: see above Expected Results: clicked link opens in one firefox instance every time, both from with firefox and from other applications. about:buildconfig Build platform target i686-pc-cygwin Build tools Compiler Version Compiler flags $(CYGWIN_WRAPPER) cl 12.00.8804 -TC -nologo -W3 -nologo -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) $(CYGWIN_WRAPPER) cl 12.00.8804 -TP -nologo -W3 -nologo -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) Configure arguments --disable-ldap --disable-mailnews --enable-extensions=cookie,xml-rpc,xmlextras,pref,transformiix,universalchardet,typeaheadfind,webservices,inspector,gnomevfs,negotiateauth --enable-crypto --disable-composer --enable-single-profile --disable-profilesharing --enable-optimize --disable-debug --disable-tests --enable-static --disable-shared --enable-official-branding
You're suffering from bad Registry entries. Fixed in nightlies (will be fixed for 1.0PR and later), workaround in comment 139 of the bug I'm duping to. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 246078 ***

See comment 201 on that bug. Either way, go to that bug and let them know if the patch worked or not, and if not demand they reopen the bug.
