User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 0.7+ (20040810) If I import from this feed http://slashdot.org/index.rss I get all the headlines, but Thunderbird ignores the description field. If I click on the news I wanna view, I dont really want to download the linked page, because ive already downloaded the description. May be a "view description" and view site" option Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Subscribe to feed 2. Download latest feed 3. View a news item Actual Results: Web site downloaded Expected Results: Description should be avalible to view (since its already been downloaded)
did you select "show the article summary instead of loading the web site" option in the account manager setting or the feed property dialog? Works for me.

Destciption field doesnt work on http://www.d2.co.za/blog/SyndicationService.asmx/GetRss There is no easy way to switch between the description and web page... ie. I open the description up, and I think its interesting and want to view the web page, I cant.
(In reply to comment #2) > There is no easy way to switch between the description and web page... Selecting View > Message Body As > Simple HTML or Original does the switch "for me".
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
