User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Firefox/0.9.3 In this page http://www.cajunline.com/red-cast.html, the text left of the graphic displays garbage symbols in FireFox, but displays proper text in IE. This is 100% repeatable on this page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. just browse to the given URL with latest build of FireFox 2. 3. Actual Results: Displayed garbage symbols instead of text Expected Results: Should have displayed proper text - it seems to display fine in IE.
This page brings up 271 errors from a w3c validation. It uses non-SGML characters in the broken section and is similarly broken in Opera. This is a case of Garbage in --> Garbage out, should be marked INVALID in my humble opinion. If you want it fixed E-mail the webmaster tell him/her to use regular ASCII text in the broken section. I made a not-broken version of this page and put it up at http://www.goldfinch.demon.co.uk/redcast/red-cast.html tell 'em to use that if they want!
Yep. The page mixes data in multiple completely incompatible encodings. Over to evang.
