256551 - Slashdot table layout breaks most of the time

Mozilla misrenders slashdot.org's clunky table layout more often than not. I've
seen two major rendering faults:

1. The content area is not rendered at all (as in bug 254943),
2. The header table cells in the sidebar bleed over into the content area.

This is not 100% reproducible, and I've never seen the problem on Windows, so
I'd guess it's a platform-dependent timing issue. Screenshots follow.
