This is impractical and non consistent with all other such folder-trees within Firefox. The bookmark manager and the history sidebar for example need a double click. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Actual Results: Folder in bookmarks sidebar collapse and expand and bookmarks open on single click. Expected Results: Folder in bookmarks sidebar should collapse and expand and bookmarks should open on double click.

I think this should be fixed for 1.0 release!
This isn't as goog as the current behavior. To get consistent behavior between the different panels and dialogs I would prefer following action: - Folders in the sidebar should be expanded/collapsed with double click when clickt directly onto the name. Instead using the icons '+' or '-' should work with only one click. This is the current behavior on windows. Perhaps we have to add an additionally handling for this OS? How does it look like on Linux/Unix/Mac? - Bookmarks should be opened by only one click. This is the current behavior all over the UI. IMO it shouldn't be changed. We also would run in trouble with middle click. I didn't know an application where I have to middle click twice to start the associated action. I'm confirming this bug. But we should discuss and IMO changing the summary.

(In reply to comment #3) > - Bookmarks should be opened by only one click. This is the current behavior all > over the UI. I don't see any reasons why items in the bookmarks sidebar should be opened in a different way than items in the (identical looking) history sidebar! I think this confuses the users.
the decision was taken to standardize on single-click to match IE a long time ago. There's a bug on making history match single-click.
