Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 When I first launch the application, I get a new blank window and a menu bar that is empty save for the Apple menu, the 'Firefox' application menu, and the Shared Menu for URL Manager Pro. Attempts to enter a URL or use any command-key equivalents fail until I click on the desktop and then click on the Firefox window, which also causes the rest of the Firefox menus to display. When using the program, if a new window is created, focus remains with the window under it, so if I go to close a popup by using the command-key shortcut, it closes the frontmost tab in the window underneath. No input will be directed to the frontmost window until, again, I click on the desktop and then click again on the browser window. If I turn off VirtualDesktop, these issues disappear, but it's an integral part of my desktop workflow, making these bugs a severe irritation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: For launch menu / command-key problems: 1. Install and start up CodeTek VirtualDesktop 2. Install and start up Firefox, version 0.9 or later (earlier versions did not have this problem) For input misdirection: 1. Ensure that CodeTek VirtualDesktop is installed and functioning, as above. 2. Open a Firefox window that contains multiple tabs. 3. Navigate to a site that pops open new windows. 4. Click on a link that opens a new window. Immediately press command-W. Actual Results: For launch menu / command-key problems: The application starts up with no menus other than the Apple and Firefox application menus. File, Edit, View, Go, Bookmarks, Tools, Window, and Help are all missing. For input misdirection: The frontmost tab in the window from which you launched the new window will close. Expected Results: For launch menu / command-key problems: All of the application's menus should have displayed, and command-key equivalents should have functioned as normal. For input misdirection: The frontmost, new window should have closed. I know I've bundled two different bugs into one report, but these are only two of a bunch that seem to be rooted in incompatibilities between the Firefox windowing code and VirtualDesktop. As noted above, I didn't start encountering these problems until the release of Firefox 0.9.0, but they've persisted in every incremental update since that time. I only have this problem with Firefox, and it drives me absolutely bonkers, because I'm always closing the wrong windows and tabs and clicking on the desktop to make text fields actually editable.
