In mozilla\toolkit\locales\en-US\chrome\global\downloadProgess.properties the entry "BadPluginMessage" refers to "Navigator" Full sentence is "The plugin performed an illegal operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator"

this is one of those files that is shared between Seamonkey and aviary. Maybe "your browser" is the appropriate wording?

I hope it's OK for me to note here that in my Firefox 0.9.2 - "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8" - when I go to http://www.bigideafun.com/penguins/arcade/spaced_penguin/default.htm which incorporates an item of type application/x-director, I am told that "Navigator can retrieve the plug-in for you". I'm afraid I don't know which file this is in.

I am a great fan of Firefox till the Preview Release.. But version 1.0 is just annoying. The program crashes often. The main reason might be flash plugin. It always says me this message - "The plugin performed an illegal operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator" Not sure if something else is causing this but this happens only when the web site I am visitng contains flash. I tried uninstalling Firefox and re-installing and also re-installing Flash 7. But in vain. Please let me know what I need to do if this is not a bug or let me know if I need to file a separate bug. Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 (ax) -Arun
arun.nallan@gmail.com: can you find a nice simple flash page that crashes your flash plugin, save it to your disk (use ie or mozilla/ff w/ plugins disabled) and reduce it to a minimal webpage that still crashes flash and file a new bug with that testcase (file it in browser:plugins)? maybe we can get macromedia to fix the crash...

for reference, arun filed bug 269334 about his flash crash
