Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040914 Firefox/0.9
I dowloaded 1.0PR, nuked my .mozilla, and wasn't able to install any extension
(Adblock, BugMeNot, etc.). 1.0PR RC does not have this problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
0. Start with a fresh installation.
1. Download an XPI.
2. The installation window shows up; click on install.
3. The extension manager shows up, empty
4. Restart Firefox.
5. No extension is listed as installed nor visibly installed.
Actual Results:
Nothing.
Expected Results:
Have the extension installed.
Something which is probably related: clicking on the Updates button does nothing
on 1.0PR while it works fine with 1.0PR RC.
Regards,
Hugo

From Bug 261815
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3)
Gecko/20040925 Firefox/0.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3)
Gecko/20040925 Firefox/0.10
Working with a clean, new profile, Extension Manager cannot install any
extension to Firefox.
Working with a profile that already has some extensions installed, Extension
Manager doesn't show any of them ans it's not possible to install any.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get and install latest nightly build
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2004-09-27-09-0.9/firefox-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz
2. Create a new profile
3. Try to install
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/extensions/adblock/adblock-0.5-0.5.2.039.xpi
4. Popup "Software Installation" appears (as normal).
5. Klick "Install Now" button
Actual Results:
Popup changes from "Software Installation" to "Extensions", showing empty pane.
Expected Results:
Extension should have been installed and should be shown in EM.
If working with a profile that already got some extensions installed, EM doesn't
show any of them.
The problem already occured with 2004-09-26 Linux build.

WFM using 2004-09-28-09-0.9 (linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz) build.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2004-09-28-09-0.9/firefox-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz

Broken again in 2004-09-30-18-0.10.1 (linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz) build.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2004-09-30-18-0.10.1/firefox-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz
It is broken in the new 1.0PR 0.10.1:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.9
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/0.10.1/firefox-1.0PR-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz
Actually, with 0.10.1, I managed to get it working with a new profile. With
0.10, it would not work even with a new profile.
