There seems no way in FireFox PR1.0 to select multiple entries in the history
sidebar, making it impossible to do simple things as mass deletion of specific
links. Moreover, left-clicking a link automatically loads it, instead of needing
a double-click, leading to more mistakes.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open history side-bar.
2. Try to select multiple entries.
Actual Results:
Only up to one entry selected

Expected Results:
Multiple entries should be selected

I'm suffering from the main focus of this bug too ("no way in FireFox PR1.0 to
select multiple entries in the history sidebar"), with Firefox 1.0PR on Windows
2000; worked fine with Firefox 0.9.3
I had this bug too with Firefox PR1.0 (using WinXP SP2). I find it a curse. I
have gone back to 0.9.3.
I see this on Mac OS X 10.3 with Firefox 0.10.1

Very annoying. I read the bug report referenced above and it seems like people
are putting consistency above usability...
There isn't even a simple context menu Select All. And ctrl+click multiple
items then right+click doesn't bring up any context menu at all. The only way I
can find to delete history items is one item or one folder at a time.

sounds like this has been fixed...

I don't think this was fixed in 1.0. Removing fixed-aviary1.0 keyword.

Not sure of the status of this bug, given that bug 260367 was marked invalid. Is
this still a valid bug?

Clearing nomination, we're reimplementing a lot of History, and this should be possible after that, if not please renominate.

I believe this bug is fixed on trunk. A comment by mconner in bug 217472 suggested clicking to the left of the icon in the history sidebar to select vs activate the item. Three years later, it still works, at least for me on windows (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9a9pre) Gecko/2007100315 Minefield/3.0a9pre - Build ID: 2007100315).

control-click and shift-click do multiple selection, right-click gets a context menu with at least a functioning delete item (only one I tried).

Should this be moved to places, or not worth the trouble?

Would a new bug "Make multiple selection capability in history sidebar discoverable" make sense?

WFM with Minefield 3.1b2pre, see comment 10.
