User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040825 Camino/0.8.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040825 Camino/0.8.1 Unfortunately I've only seen this recently on a bank web page and you would have to log in as me to see this but the symptoms are repeatable at that site (page has at and applet and javascript, and in secure mode). Symptoms: start printing, progress bar moves slightly, doesn't respond to cancel, eventually spinning cursor of death starts. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open bank statement 2.choose print 3.wait a few minutes Actual Results: no progress, couldn't cancel, application unpresponsive -- have to force quit Expected Results: print or at least permit cancelling (COMMAND-. or click on Cancel)
I've seen this problem again at <http://www.hwatson.force9.co.uk/cookbook/recipes/desserts/lemonmeringuepie.htm>. It is not repeatable in this case simply by force-quitting and trying again -- it appears that substantial activity is needed before the bug manifests in this case.
Wouldn't this be a dup of #182355 ?
(In reply to comment #2) > Wouldn't this be a dup of #182355 ? No. The print dialog goes away as normal. The progress box with the Cancel button appears then the problem manifests. It appears to need a reasonably long session before it happens. I haven't been able to pin down an exact sequence of events to trigger it.
Closing because of the lack of information. Please file a more presize bug when more information is available.

Unfortunately this one is harder to reproduce than I thought when first reporting it -- it relies on having run a session for a while, rather than being at a specific page, but the results are the same whatever triggers it: the printing progress dialog stops showing progress, and will not respond to Cancel. I don't know what more specific information I can supply than that but if something arises, I will report it. A possible hint: could the behaviour reported in 157628 cause confusion over what is actually printing?

Seems that Jasper meant to close this bug, and I agree with his reasoning. Re-open later if new information comes up.
