User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 When first migrating profiles in Firefox 1.0, deleting a profile ("permanently") caused loss of Profile Manager function, even though profile information and bookmarks are still present in (home)/Library/Mozilla/Profiles Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Clean install of Firefox 2. Open Profile Manager 3. Delete old profile "permanently" Actual Results: Profile Manager no longer available and profiles (e.g. bookmarks) are not migrated. Expected Results: Retained profile management function.
What do you mean "profile manager function"? If you start firefox with the -P option no profile manager is displayed?
To get the Profile Manager back, start Firefox from the terminal, setting the -p flag. At the prompt enter: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -p
Profile manager functionality is available in Firefox 1.0 but there is no link created for it automagically on installation. Also there is no mention in the documentation on how to do this. Using the -ProfileManager start up option. Not really a bug but rather a documentation oversite. It would be handy to have the install create the icon, but at least with the info the user can create their own.
We do not wish to expose the profile at all. It's supposed to be a hidden implementation detail.
