Also happens here on (uname -a)
Linux r2d2 2.4.21-0.13mdk #1 Fri Mar 14 15:08:06 EST 2003 i586
browser is (firefox -v) Mozilla Firefox 0.10.1
After this, Firefox can't be started again for several minutes. Renders it really unusable.
And, please forgive a bugzilla newbie if this is not the right place, but it looks to me like this is
the same as bug # 247549.
There is problem with freetype2.
I've installed freetype2 without Bytecode interpreter and ff does not crash.
There is problem with fonts because fonts are replaced by some other signs.
The segmentation fault above message didn't occur anymore when I uninstalled
freetype 2.1.9 compiled by me with hinting support enabled and revert back to
2.1.7 always with hinting enabled. Hope this helps.
Yes, now I have freetype 2.1.9-1 and everything is working fine :)

*** Bug 273959 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Well ... I'm used to use firefox ... Yet normally I use Slackware ( now 10.2 - kernel 2.6.16.19 // slightly patched ) and xfs/xdm ...
I had no problems with firefox (1.5.0.4) until I've changed udevs to 096 ...
It's known there are problems with pts <-> xterm under kernel 2.6.
In the end I can log in X as common user ... Yet firefox dies with message like this:
1.5.0.4
run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 5327 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
1.5.0.6
run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 5365 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
2.0beta1
run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 5390 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
and I've already tried delete old .mozilla temps or get some info about what happens from bug database ... / There's nothing at all
Yet Opera from X11 and Firefox 1.5.04 starting from wine work fine ...
Any suggestions ... ?? ?? ??
