This problem requires an email account where the SMTP server requires a
password to send email.

After composing an email and clicking Send, when the SMTP password dialog
comes up, it forces the mail reader window to the top, so that it covers
up the composition window.  After entering the password and clicking OK,
you are left looking at the mail reader window, not the composition window.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. read email from the account's POP3 or IMAP server.
2. Click Compose, the composition window appears, on top of the mail
reader window.  compose an email, click Send.
3. the mail reader window comes to the top, covering up the composition
window, and the SMTP password dialog appears on top of the mail reader
window.
4. enter the SMTP password and click OK.  The password dialog disapears.

Actual Results:  
The composition window remains obscured by the mail reader window from the
moment the password dialog appears.  


Expected Results:  
The SMTP password dialog should have been modal to the composition window, 
and should not have brought up the mail reader window.  When the SMTP 
password dialog went away, you should have been left looking at the 
composition window, not at the mail reader window.

I reported this bug against mozilla application suite 2.5 years ago.
It is still present in SeaMonkey 1.5a (trunk) today. :(
