User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040914 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040914 Firefox/0.10.1 Summary says it all really. Occasionally I get grey blocks overdrawn the main window. From then on when I mouseover a widget it gets overdrawn with gray. It appears to happen when I do a <ctrl>-F and start typing without checking the mouse is over the textbox. This has happened several times this evening (and I think, but could be wrong, on IE6 on WinXP SP2 too, like I say I might of dreamt that!). The initially overdrawing I think is always over the find toolbar?! This is exceedingly annoying, I'm almost afraid to search now for ruining my session. The browser doesn't crash, it just becomes unusable. I can still scroll. Also if a second window is open I can use that OK (and close the window with the overdrawing). Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start firefox 2. Ctrl-F 3. Start typing Actual Results: Gray blocks appear overlaying toolbars and other widgets. Expected Results: Worked!
WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10 Dose this happen on spicific pages? Please can you give us urls to those pages.

Actually I haven't really noticed this on Windows, but perhaps 'cause I usually use Linux (Slackware 10.0) -- Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040914 Firefox/0.10.1 I think I've tracked it down to the integrated search dialof (ctrl-f) that appears as a toolbar above the status bar (bottom of window). After some time Firefox becomes sluggish (may be unrelated memory leaks) and eventually the blocking effect occurs when I try to search. Haven't established yet whether it is a focus problem in that it appears to happen when I start typing search terms without first focussing (with mouse pointer) the search toolbar's text box. Sorry this was not posted earlier, I only just got an email to say it was being considered.
